The Business:

A professional audit company responsible for assessing, maintaining and raising standards across its industry.


The Problem:

To understand the characteristics required to enable auditors to conduct their roles whilst retaining positive and productive relationships with people in organisations that they audit, and to create a process that can be used to identify and recruit auditors successfully.

The Approach:

We worked in partnership with this organisation from its inception to current day. Together we have developed:

  • Role profiles for all auditor roles to enable a deep understanding of the demands and skills required by each role, and in particular the interpersonal skills required to ensure relationships remain positive whilst performing a potentially contentious role.

  • A selection process to enable recruitment of those who have the right capability and potential to perform the auditor roles. This involved profiling interviews with our psychologists and roles plays / works sample exercises with trained members of the auditing team.

  • A team building session to enable team members to share and understand more about each other and to enhance working relationships.

The Result:
